Instead of sprawling across the yard, it’s nestled into the landscape, allowing the home’s architecture and outdoor spaces to take center stage. The sun shelf offers a place to cool off without diving in, while the integrated spa and wide entry steps to the left invite easy movement and relaxation. The layered progression from porch to courtyard to water creates natural moments for gathering, lounging, and play. And with a geothermal system that both heats and cools the pool, it’s built for year-round comfort. An elevated escape. This classic rectilinear pool is perfectly aligned to capture sweeping views of the Ohio River Valley beyond the bluff. Its proportions make it ideal for a retractable cover, keeping leaves out while preserving the clean geometry. Set within a historic Old Hyde Park estate, this detached pool house was designed to complement and support the existing pool, creating a refined backdrop for extended summer weekends. The structure provides an interior retreat from the heat, while the outdoor kitchen and fireplace serve as a natural gathering point for entertaining. We anchored the design with bluestone and limestone, creating a cohesive connection to the surrounding landscape. A steep Lubiwici tile roof, detailed with copper gutters, adds character and durability. Tuscan columns and decorative corbels frame the covered patio, offering shaded views and a seamless relationship to the pool environment.
